Foodies in Marche
You won’t be disappointed. The concept of Slow Food started in Italy in 1986 and is widely disbursed in Marche being a region rich in agriculture with family traditions of long family lunches using local recipes passed down from generation to generation. Centrally located between the Adriatic coast and the Sibillini mountains you’ll enjoy an extensive variety of local cuisine, all at reasonable prices. Food in Le Marche is based around simple cooking using fresh ingredients. In fact most locals continue to shop on a daily basis here and many have their own vegetable gardens and rear their own chickens. Why not do some walking in the Monte Conero, just south of Ancona and reward yourself afterwards with a delicious fresh fish lunch overlooking the sea, or head up into the Sibillinis where you’ll find true mountain delights such as fresh water trout, slow cooked wild boar or delicious hare pasta. Wander round the local markets and choose your fresh produce to prepare a feast in your well equipped self catering apartment washed down with a glass or two of local Rosso Piceno, or enjoy a lazy bbq in our gardens catching one of our many spectacular sunsets.
